Suisen (Setchuuka) - December's Tanjouka

Bright against winter’s hush, the narcissus brings hope, clarity, and a sense of sacred self. Different from a regular suisen (narcissus/daffodil), setchuuka means, "flowers in the snow" and they signify grace under pressure and quiet resolve. Often reflective, wise, and filled with light, this brave flower is the birth flower of December and accented with December's birthstone - turquoise. Each petal and leaf has been painstakingly shaped by hand, individually filled with multiple colors of custom mixed resin, and cured. Trimmed, sealed and given a final polish to maintain their shine, the individual petals are then combined to form a finished flower. After the flower has been created, it's carefully attached to handmade hardware and finished with a Hubei turquoise droplet. Extremely labor intensive to create, these delicate earrings are designed to embody the suisen's ephemeral beauty.
